The Crank

There are two crank options that can be used with the Boosty Drive

Crank (without an integrated free wheel.)

Using  this combination the crank is directly coupled to the Boosty drive unit. When the drive unit is activated the crank must rotate.

The benefit is the possibility that your original crank may be used when retrofitted with an extra chain ring and spacer ring.

There must be a minimum of 11mm between the crank arm and the outer chain ring for this installation.

Of course the disadvantage is the crank must rotate when the drive unit is activated (you must peddle).

Crank with free wheel. (Recommended System)

For better ergonomics we have developed a crankset with an integrated free wheel system. This allows the crank to de-couple under power giving a more controlled and enjoyable riding experience.

Boosty 4 Arm free-wheel crankset ISIS 104/64mm for Mountain- and Citybikes

With the third freewheel on the crankset, next to the 1st on the rear wheel and the 2nd on the drive unit it allows forward drive, from zero to maximum speed under all peddling conditions. Forward peddle, back peddle and stationary position on the peddles.

Up to 4 Chainrings and a spacer can be used with a 4-hole 104mm / 64mm Crankset / Chainset configuration. Suitable for the majority of mountain and city bikes on the market today.

The Boosty Echo ISIS Crankset 4 ring set includes, Truvativ ISIS Bottom Bracket, Echo ISIS Crank Arms, 4 Chainrings, Freewheel Spider (developed by Boosty) and all mounting hardware.

The available Chainrings are 22, 24, 32, 36, 42, 44, 48 Teeth.

Weight 1575g complete, approximately 600g heavier than a standard MTB triple Crankset / Chainset.

Boosty 5 Arm free-wheel crankset 110/74mm Lochkreis mit grösserer Auswahl an Kettenblätter (Zähnezahlen)

A 5-Hole Crankset is suitable for a Single Chainring set up and/or for use with a rear Gear Hub.

These Cranksets can be configured with up to three Chainrings but are not well suited for use with a front derailleur due to the design of the Chainring.

Set includes, Bottom Bracket, Custom Crank Arms, Freewheel Spider, Chainring, Spacer ring, Chainring of your choice and all mounting hardware.


Available Chainrings, 24,26,28,30,32,34,36,38,40,42,46,50,52 Teeth.

The Distance ring is installed between the Outer Chainring and the Drive Chainring for the Boosty Drive.

The Distance ring has three functions. It gives the correct spacing for the drive unit, prevents over shifting, and is a bash guard to protect the Chainring(s).

Zusätzliches Motoren-Kettenblatt mit Trennblatt für 4-Arm 104mm oder 5-Arm 110mm Kurbeln

Zum nachrüsten der bestehenden Kurbel kann zusätzlich ein Motor-Kettenblatt mit Trennscheibe montiert werden. Es braucht aber an der Kurbel zwischen Kurbelarm und äusserstem Kettenblatt min. 11mm Platz. Nachteil gegenüber dem Kurbelfreilauf - bei Motorbetrieb kann die Kurbel nicht sofort gestoppt werden und der Pedelec Modus funktioniert nicht. Auch kann damit nicht angefahren werden da der Motor verzögert eingeschalten wird.
